Privacy Policy — MathQuest

This Privacy Policy describes how MathQuest ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you or your child uses the MathQuest mobile application and website ("the Service"). MathQuest is operated from Israel.

1. Who this policy applies to

MathQuest is an educational math game designed for children in grades 3 and 4 (approximately ages 8–10). We comply with applicable child privacy laws including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Google Play's Designed for Families requirements.

2. Information we collect

When a player creates an account, we collect:

• Username (chosen by the player; need not be a real name)
• Password (stored only as a one-way hash; we cannot read it)
• Grade level (3 or 4)
• Character class selection (in-game choice)
• Gameplay data: math problems answered, correct/incorrect counts, learning progression, in-game coins and items
• Parent email address (optional): only if a parent chooses to enable weekly progress reports

We do not collect: real names, addresses, phone numbers, location data, photos, contacts, or any biometric data.

3. How we use the information

• To allow the player to log in and resume their progress
• To adapt the difficulty of math problems to the player's skill level
• To send optional weekly progress emails to a parent (only if explicitly enabled)
• To detect and fix bugs and improve the educational content

We do not use the data for advertising, profiling, or behavioral targeting. We do not sell or share the data with third parties for marketing.

4. Advertising

MathQuest does not display third-party advertisements and does not use any advertising SDKs.

5. Third-party services

We use the following service providers strictly to operate the Service:

• Microsoft Azure — application hosting (Israel/EU regions)
• Cloudflare — DNS and domain registration
• Google (Gmail SMTP) — to send optional parent weekly report emails
• OpenAI — to generate written explanations of math problems on demand. Only the math question text is sent; no personal information is included.

6. Data storage and retention

Account data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers. We retain account data for as long as the account is active. You may request deletion of an account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below.

7. Children's privacy & parental rights

Because MathQuest is intended for children, parents have the right to:

• Review what information we have collected about their child
• Request deletion of their child's account and data
• Refuse further collection of information by ceasing use of the Service

8. Security

Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes. Data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS). We restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel only.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Significant changes will be announced inside the app.
